WINNIPEG'S PATRICK ALEXANDRE ANNOUNCES "ROAD TO RECORD" TOUR -WINNIPEG TO VAN. ISLAND- SPRING 2017

WINNIPEG'S ROOTS AND BLUES POWERHOUSE SINGER PATRICK ALEXANDRE AND HIS TRIO ARE PLAYING THEIR WAY TO AN OLD STONE BARN TURNED STUDIO JUST SOUTH OF NANAIMO TO FRAME HIS LATEST RECORD. THE ALBUM WILL BE THE SIXTH IN ALEXANDRE'S ALREADY IMPRESSIVE DISCOGRAPHY.

After three albums with the F-Holes (The F-Holes 2009, Angel In The Corner 2011, Red Hot 2012), onewith Little Miss Higgins (the Juno nominated "Bison Ranch Recording Sessions" produced by Alexandre and Higgins, 2013) and one solo album ("Strange New World" 2015), Patrick Alexandre will be headingout on the road to play some new material, which will then be recorded in Ladysmith BC, at Risque Disque Records.

No stranger to touring, Alexandre will be playing shows along the road to the island with stops in a handful of his favourite gigs west of Winnipeg.

"We'd like to be in top shape once we hit the studio," says the multi-instrumentalist "nothing gets a band tighter than playing on the road."

In keeping with the theme of unconventional recording locations and the use of analog equipment, Alexandre's penchant for going the distance will bring him and his musicians to the old stone barn at Risqué Disque Records in Ladysmith BC.  Part of the allure was their ability to record to tape. "I could record the album on a computer, in some ways it's faster. So is driving a car down a horse trail... but you'll probably miss something."

The Patrick Alexandre Trio will be performing the upcoming album in it's entirety on the "Road To Record" tour.  The album is set to come out in the fall with an album release tour planned for Western Canada in late September.

"all that was left was his guts piled on the floor, and an audience, standing, cheering; insisting he do some more!"  -Sheldon Sveinson, Artristic Director at the fIre & Water music Festival

"Patrick Alexandre and his trio of Blues enthusiasts 'blue' the roof off the root: community emporium on Wednesday night, playing an extra set and an encore after much encouragment from the audience. where the trio broke out their secondary instruments for a very unique sound, ...so boisterous it could fill an amphitheater."   -Phil McLachlan, Meridian Booster/Postmedia Networkd

"Alexandre thumped away on his upright bass and howled out most of the vocals in his deep, gravelly voice... several of the highlights of the rest of the show came from “Strange New World,” alexandre's new Cd especially “ Who’s Gonna Thank You when You’re Gone.” -Richard Amery, l.A. Beat
